Endurance Models

Defination: Endurance from Webster's New World Dictionary The ability to last, stand pain. There are three types of endurance spirtual, emotional, phisical, I will give 3 examples of these three types of Endurance

There are so many martyers of the faith that endured alot for the sake of the gospel. But the ulitmate example is Jesus Christ, who endured the cross so that we can spend eternity with him. So why do we have such apathy in society today? The Creator of the Universe came to die on a cross for us, why are we not throwing everything aside to follow him? Because we have this mindset that says "I should not have to let someone else do it." "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:1-3 So get off the couch and start following Christ with everything that you have.

WIlliam Wilberforce is a shining example of Emotional endurance. You might be wondering why? He fought the slave trade for twenty long years, giving his health, and youth for his cause. Next after he was finished fighting the slave trade, did he retire? No! He kept fighting for a better world intil his death in 1833. You could say that Thomas Clarkson and others had an important role in ending the slave trade, but William Wilberforce had the key role in "one of the turning events in the history of the world" G.M Traveylan.

"When people speak of great men, they think of men like Napoleon - men of violence. Rarely do they think of peaceful men. But contrast the reception they will receive when they return home from their battles. Napoleon will arrive in pomp and in power, a man who's achieved the very summit of earthly ambition. And yet his dreams will be haunted by the oppressions of war. William Wilberforce, however, will return to his family, lay his head on his pillow and remember: the slave trade is no more."

My Dad, is one of my real life heros He has a very stress filled job. I have never heard him complain about it. Sleeping weird hours, and working with people who don't need to be working with computers at all. I love my Daddy! Thanks for being a godly example for me. He

Who is a fictional character that portrays endurance? Elise Dinsmore is a fictional character who has the inner strength to stand up for what is right. No matter what the cost. Now if your not a girl then you probably have no clue who she is! The Elise Dinsmore series are written by Martha Finley set in the Victorian years, with the beautiful dresses, courteous gentlemen, fair maidens calling cards and horse drawn carriages, I would love to have lived in that century.

These are my examples of Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical examples that we should follow, However our ultimate goal should be to become more Christ-like at all cost. These are my examples who are yours? Who do you strive to be more like? What influences your life? Are they good or evil? Let us be the generation that Changes the world.

  1. "The Creator of the Universe came to die on a cross for us, why are we not throwing everything aside to follow him?"

Man, that's a very convicting question. And we might be sold out for Him for a little bit of time, but the question is if we will ENDURE and serve Him wholeheartedly and PERSEVERINGLY.

I'm wondering, are you hoping to turn that post into a speech? I love the examples (Elsie Dinsmore is fantastic)!

  2. I already did! I posted a speech that I had to do for class this year. But I am not going to compete with it.
